Meet the People Behind WLOV

Meet the People Behind WLOV

WeLoveOurVillage.com or WeLoveOurVillage.co.uk or as many villagers now call it WLOV or WeLov is brought to you by some very special local people. One who lives in the village and the other who lives near it. They are (in no particular order):

Leonard (Mr) Petersham – Mr Petersham is the owner, founder and publicher of WLOV. He’s “The Boss” (with apologies to Mr Springsteen who is one of Mr Petersham’s favourite recording artists).

Mr Petersham is a well-known, liked and respected local character, who had the marvellous idea of harnessing modern internet technology for the good of our village and launched this rather wonderful website.

Anyone who spends time in the village will see Mr Petersham doing his rounds and keeping the local wheels of commerce lubricated with a smile, a firm handshake and an encouraging smile.

Mr Petersham has been a successful businessman for years and has an entrepreneurial eye for an opportunity. He was the first villager to have a trimphone and a fax machine and to sign up to the popular Freeserve e-mail system started out by Dixons in 1998.

He’s also a keen supporter of local arts and crafts and is regularly in the audience for the Village Players latest play or in the library looking at the latest exhibition by the Village Watercolour Club.
Mr Petersham has lived in the village for more years than he cares to remember. And has a large snooker room annexe attached to his house.
He is married to his third wife “Brett.”

Maisie Walsh – Maisie is one of Mr Petersham’s nieces and looks after the day-to-day running of WLOV. She’s the chief reporter and head of advertising all rolled into one. And without Maisie doing 101 things everyday WLOV would simply not exist. Maisie studied Women’s Studies and Horticulture at The Town College. She’s also completed a course in journalism. Maisie is not currently in a steady relationship.
